Super Audio CD
Here we offer Super Audio CDs (SACDS), covering a wide spectrum from opera to ballet, symphonies to concertos, contemporary to early music. SACDs were developed as a high-quality alternative to CDs; they offer higher-quality audio and 5.1-channel surround sound (as distinct from 2-channel stereo).
The majority of SACDs are "Hybrid SACDs", meaning that they will play in CD quality on CD players - though to get the full benefit of the format you'll need an SACD player. We indicate in the "Format" box on each record whether it is a Hybrid SACD.
