Retail Assistant (Part Time)

Presto Music, a leading online and physical retailer of classical & jazz recordings, sheet music & books, instruments & accessories, is looking for a part-time Retail Assistant to join the team at our Leamington Spa store.

This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in music and a friendly, helpful approach to customers. We are especially keen to hear from musicians and this position could suit a student looking for regular weekend work, with the possibility of some additional weekday hours during busier periods.

Responsibilities

• Be a welcoming and helpful presence on the shop floor, representing Presto Music to customers in store and over the phone
• Assist customers with queries and help them find suitable products
• Support the day-to-day running of the shop, including keeping displays tidy, attractive and well stocked
• Help maintain a high standard of presentation across the store
• Work with colleagues to provide excellent customer service during busy periods
• Offer general support across different departments as needed

Skills & Requirements

• The most important thing is a strong interest in music and being a musician yourself
• A friendly, approachable manner and enjoyment of working with people
• Reliability, common sense and a willingness to learn
• Confidence to use initiative and help out wherever needed
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to read music would be helpful, but is not essential
• An interest in classical and/or jazz music would be an advantage
• Knowledge of orchestral string instruments would be welcome, but is not essential
• Previous retail experience is helpful, but not required

Contract / Hours

Part-time: 8 hours per week

Working day: Saturday

Hourly rate: Dependent on experience

There may be the opportunity for occasional additional hours Monday to Friday at busier times and also evening work in association with our musical and educational events
