About

Echo Vocal Ensemble presents Innocence, a bold debut album that moves freely between musical traditions sacred and secular, composed and improvised, classical and popular. Spanning 900 years of musical history, this recording explores the concept of innocence and its many connections to our changing ideas of faith, tradition, childhood and the natural world. * Led by conductor Sarah Latto, Echo takes the listener on a journey through song, from Hildegard of Bingen and Maurice Ravel to ANOHNI, Morrissey, and Meredith Monk.

October 2024

Here is a deeply satisfying, centuries-spanning, thought-provoking debut album by the fine choral ensemble Echo...The highlight of the album is Howard Skempton’s luminous Yeats setting ‘He wishes for the cloths of heaven’, which is exquisitely done.

August 2024

These performances are crafted with skill, flair, understanding, passion and respect for the traditions to which they belong...All in all, an impressive debut from a choir from whom I’m sure we will hear far more in the future.
